But in D3 there is something else: breaking down gear to get crafting ingredients which can provide you with better gear. This will remove items from the 'game-pool' without inserting additional gold. Ingredients AND gold will be removed to create new items with so many random stats that repeated trials will be needed. The main effect being that 'high level' characters no longer flood the market with 'less than epic but still pretty damned good' items. Will SoJ's be deconstructed repeatedly if there is a slim chance of an SoJv02? I think so. I also think that crafting ingredients will become a currency in their own right. I've enjoyed this post but think the 'item destruction' is an undervalued element in the gold & item sink subject. Cheers ~gg
