The Inner Cloister is a small courtyard area within the rogue Monastery. Directly adjacent to the Inner Cloister lies the Cathedral, which players need to to pass in order to reach the Catacombs.

In earlier version of Diablo II, there was a Super Unique by the name of Flamespike the Crawler in the courtyard. However, because B.net would sometimes lag when loading a new area, and since Flamespike was right next to the waypoint, it was not uncommon for players to die whenever they used the Inner Coister waypoint, as flamespike and his minions would kill them while the area was still loading. In newer versions Flamespike has been removed from the game altogether.
