This is a list of the changes and improvements made by Blizzard Entertainment to Diablo II and its expansion, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Up until Patch 1.07 the changes affect only the classic game. Installing LoD will install Patch 1.07 automatically. Patches after 1.07 affect Diablo II classic and Lod in different degrees. For Battle.net play, the game requires the latest patch, which will be installed automatically by the server. Except these client-side changes, Battle.net has the capability to apply server-side patches. These can range from minor to major.
Patch 1.13[]
Patch 1.13 is currently under development and has been since April 2009. It has since then been delayed severely. One reason was a security issue with Battle.net when users played Warcraft III, which forced Blizzard to force work on 1.13. The problem was fixed, and work was resumed in September. Since then the patch development seems to have moved forward, although no release date has been given.[1]
