Spoilerish image for Tyrael's Information Box

I'm not even finished with Act 1 and was reading about the lore in general and in Diablo 2, clicked on Tyrael and BAM! huge spoiler because of the portrait. I believe we should remove the portrait and put the image further down as not to spoil everyone.

Image for Tyrael's Information Box

Just wondering, but is the current image intended as a placeholder until Diablo III is released? It's good fan art, but I think it would be better to replace it with official artwork when possible. (Considering the limited and/or rather low quality of what is available from Blizzard, I'm all for keeping the image as-is for now). Sojourna 08:56, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

It was fan art, but it's used in the Book of Cain right together with Tyrael's own article (albeit with the parchment coloring). It's classified as Fan Art because because Bashiok went out of his way to say that it wasn't official concept art or some such when it was showcased on battle.net. The image should probably be recategorized in light of this. --PhrozenDragon 18:55, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
It should probably be left alone for now, since it sounds as though it's in a gray area where identity is concerned. Although, I suppose a Titanium Seal of Dalaran could be borrowed if Blizzard doesn't end up settling the question itself. ;) Sojourna 02:44, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
I've gone ahead and moved the image to the Official portion of the gallery. Figured it can't get more official than being released as a wallpaper by Blizzard. Sojourna 09:24, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Gallery Images (Official Art)

I've added some more images to the page. Just want to note that for the alt text, I kind of winged it by putting in "Tyrael from the VGA 2011 trailer." because I don't what else to put there. Tyrael in the Sin War, or a vision of the future...? Anyway, feel free to edit if/when a more definitive answer is available. Sojourna 01:58, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

Nephalem

Tyrael did NOT become a Nephalem. He surrendered immortality, but was stil an archangel. No where do they say he became a Nephalem, which would have been a MAJOR plot point. I can see how its confusing with him being referred to as "one of us." This can be interpreted to mean human (or Nephalem) but this is more than likely intended to just mean mortal. No one referes to him an a Nephalem, even when Imperius is telling our character that his/her kind (the Nephalem) are not welcome in heaven, a statement he separates Tyreal from by not addressing him him in that moment,a nd then further by addressing him immediately after telling him he will be dealt later (as in, apart from the Nephalem)

I know its extremely unclear, especially given his unexplained human appearance, but he can in no way be a Nephalem. At the least, it is too far a stretch without further information declaring him as being anything more than a mortal angel.--174.58.100.22 05:51, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. Feel free to edit the article for elaboration and citation. --Apoc 15:33, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
