Starblo

Starblo was an action-RPG that was conceptualized by Blizzard North after Diablo II. While one team focused on continuing to develop for the Diablo series, the other was defined as the "we love Diablo but it's time to try something new" team. After throwing around various ideas, the team settled on the idea of making a "Diablo clone," but as a space opera. The project thus earned the nickname "Starblo" due to its mix of a space setting, like StarCraft, and Diablo's ARPG formula.

Like Diablo II, Starblo would have took place over several acts, but be spread across numerous worlds rather than be confined to a single one. Players would travel from world to world in a customizable spaceship, whereupon the gameplay would be based on killing and looting space monsters.

By 2003, a few playable builds of the game existed, but the team hadn't come up with a proper name.[1] However, development of the game ended in 2014.[2]
