Holy Freeze is a useful aura. It constantly slows down and freezes enemies all around the Paladin. However, Holy Freeze has the added bonus of ignoring resists and immunities. This means that an enemy player equipped with Cannot be Frozen items will still be slowed, and monster with Cold Immunities will also be slowed. The one exception are Death Lords, who cannot be slowed by any means.

Holy Freeze does not have the damage potential of other auras in the Paladin's arsenal, like Fanaticism, and it is generally not used as a main aura. It is however very common to get an Act 2 Nightmare Defensive Mercenary, who also uses the aura.

Lore[edit | edit source]

Using this aura, the Paladin causes the temperature of the air around him to drop drastically, freezing the flesh of his enemies. Those so affected will find their movement drastically hindered and are easily dispatched back to the Hells from whence they spawned.[1]
