Holy Fire is the first of several offensive auras that deal damage. As the name suggests, this aura deals fire damage to all nearby enemies. In the beginning this skill is immensely powerful and helps the Paladin kill everything on screen much faster. However as the game progresses, especially into Nightmare and Hell, the damage gets successively worse, and it is not a skill that can be used later on in most cases.

One specific Paladin build called the Auradin utlizes this and/or Holy Shock to kill monsters, however they use runewords to boost the level of these skills well past 20. If properly built, an Auradin can be very powerful.


With a hint of brimstone in the air, the noble Paladin strides into battle encased in this holy aura. All those within its range are burnt with the fires of divine virtue. Beware, Beasts of Hell! The fire of purification is upon you![1]
