Summoner
The Summoner is a somewhat common build in Diablo 2. It is arguably the most hands-off build in the game. Here you can find out more about the build. (This build is for PvM.)
Stats
Strength
You are going to want enough strength to wear your gear. Commonly it is about 156, but it may vary from player to player, depending on the person and the gear.
Dexterity
You will need about 35 points, allowing you to use flails or wands, the two of which being the most common necromancer weapons. However it may change from person to person and player to player. Don't worry about blocking, between your bone armor and your skeletons, you won't need it.
Energy
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. If you put anything in here might as well start over the Necromancer. :)
Vitality
You will want to put the rest of your points in this spot. Literally, every spare point will go in here.
Skills
You will need 87 points for all of these skills.
Summoning Spells
Raise Skeleton is your main skill. You need 20 points in this.
Skeleton Mastery will power your skeletons. You will need 20 points in this too.
Clay Golem will slow the enemies down. However, they are weak. Only 1 point in this.
Golem Mastery is a prerequisite for Summon Resist. Only one point in this.
Summon Resist will give your summoned creatures resistance to elemental damage. However it has diminishing returns. Only one point in this.
Raise Skeletal Mage is a prerequisite for Revive. Only 1 point in this.
Revive will help your Skeleton Warriors, however your plus skills will boost the numbers of Revives. Only 1 point in this.
Nothing else in the Summoning tab.
Curses
Amplify Damage will essentially double the damage of your Skeletons. However, with the +skill gear, the size of the area of this curse will be increased very nicely. Only 1 point.
Leave the rest of this tab alone.
Poison and Bone Spells
Bone Armor is your main bone skill. However you will get better returns by using the synergies. Only one point, unless you have extra points.
Bone Wall will give your Bone Armor 5 more damage absorb then if you were to just raise Bone Armor. Max this skill.
Bone Prison will also give your Bone Armor 5 more damage absorb then if you were to just raise Bone Armor. Max this skill after Bone Wall
Nothing else in this tab.

End
Basically you want to use your Mercenary to kill some fallen to summon your skeletons. Your Mercenary will also give both his normal aura of Defiance as well as the aura on the weapon, Conviction, which will give your skeletons more defence and remove resistance from the enemies respectively. You will want to use Amplify Damage on your enemies though, which will essentially double your skeleton's damage.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and remember, the main objective is to have fun!
