The Fallen Star is the first quest players will obtain in Diablo III. It serves as a warm up to the basic mechanics of the game and introduces players to the influential characters that will shape their adventures ahead.

Kill the risen dead attacking the gates

| Quest Log Update And so, I have arrived in New Tristram. Barely two decades old, it was originally created as a resting point for adventurers seeking to pillage the ruins of Old Tristram and the cathedral beyond. If the town ever knew safety, those days ended when the falling star struck the cathedral. Necromantic magic now tinges the air, pulling the dead from their graves. It is good that I am here, or New Tristram might have shared the fate of its predecessor. | |
