The Fallen Star Quest Log
Kill the risen dead attacking the New Tristram gates. New Tristram... An ill name for a town if ever there was one. My childhood home wasn't too far from here, buried in the forests of the kingdom of Westmarch. But now there's nothing left of it except for the ashes. I will not let New Tristram fall to the same fate. The town's gates must hold.

Talk to Leah in the Slaughtered Calf Inn at the center of New Tristram. - - / / - -
Talk to Captain Rumford at the gate to New Tristram These people are desperate for aid, especially Leah. The remnants of the militia cannot hold the town alone. I will do all I can for them. Captain Rumford must know where I can best direct my efforts.
Kill the Wretched Mother north of the gate to New Tristram. It isn’t surprising that the risen dead are coming from the old ruins. The original Tristram was befouled by demons, and their work is not easily undone. Still, I will venture there and do what I can to stop these wretched mothers and their queen.
Kill the Wretched Queen and the Wretched Mothers in the Old Ruins northeast of New Tristram. - - / / - -
Use the Old Ruins Waypoint to return to New Tristram and talk to Captain Rumford. I have slaughtered the wretched queen.
The Legacy of Cain Quest Log
Use the New Tristram Waypoint to go to the Old Ruins with Leah. I do not know whether Leah’s uncle survived his ordeal, but I’m reluctant to trust to hope. I’ve found that it has a way of betraying you. Still, if the meteor fell into the cathedral, it is worth looking into. Leah has a stout heart. She reminds me a little of my sister, Halissa…
Go to the Old Tristram Gate northeast of the Old Tristram Waypoint. If the areas around the town are teeming with so many dead, I can only guess how many are in Tristram Cathedral. I’d imagine that the New Tristram militiamen found themselves in quite a predicament when they tried to seal the door. Leah and I must be cautious out here. Our former allies may now be our enemies.

Talk to Leah in the Hidden Cellar beneath Adria's Hut. - - / / - -
Go to the Cathedral by exiting the Hidden Cellar and following the path northeast from Adria's Hut. I asked Leah to stay behind to learn more about her mother, but truly I hope to spare her the pain of discovering her uncle’s fate firsthand. This cathedral is a dangerous place… There are many hunters who would not enter it. But I am not one of them.
Descend into the Cathedral Level 1 northeast of Adria's Hut. - - / / - -
Search for signs of Deckard Cain in the Cathedral. The cathedral is full of risen dead ─ those who were killed during Leoric’s mad reign, and foolhardy villagers who ventured down here, searching for treasure. Now the fallen star has brought them all back from their graves. Perhaps Cain will know more, if he still lives…
Kill the Skeletons attacking Deckard Cain in Leoric's Passage. Deckard Cain is still alive, but he needs my aid!
Talk to Deckard Cain in Leoric's Passage in the Cathedral. Cain is safe at last. Leah will be overjoyed when she sees him. Not every family in this town has been so fortunate.
Follow Deckard Cain out of Leoric's Passage. - - / / - -

A Shattered Crown Quest Log
Talk to the blacksmith Haedrig Eamon in northwest New Tristram. It makes sense that Leoric’s twisted form, the Skeleton King, would be revived along with his many victims, but it certainly is an inconvenience. Hopefully this Haedrig fellow will help me find Leoric’s crown so I can confront this monster before he causes any more damage.
Kill the Ravenous Dead in the Cellar of the Damned in northwest New Tristram. Haedrig has found himself in a difficult situation. I of all people know just how hard it is to kill a loved one when there is no other choice. I have seen it happen time and time again. But that doesn’t make his grief any less genuine or his duty any more bearable. I will help him.
Kill Mira Eamon in the Cellar of the Damned in northwest New Tristram. - - / / - -
Talk to Haedrig Eamon in the Cellar of the Damned in northwest New Tristram. The blacksmith’s wife and friends are dead. Though I do not wish to intrude on Haedrig’s grief, I must know the location of the Skeleton King’s crown, and quickly.
Open the Northwest Gate in New Tristram. The blacksmith is a descendant of one of Leoric’s courtiers. Haedrig must have quite a few stories to tell about how he returned to Tristram... But those can wait. I must find the chancellor’s tomb and the crown within it. It’s the only way I’ll be able to confront the Skeleton King.
Find the Cemetery of the Forsaken in the Weeping Hollow northeast of New Tristram. - - / / - -
Search for the Chancellor's Altar in the Defiled Crypts beneath the Cemetery of the Forsaken. - - / / - -
Kill Chancellor Eamon in the Chancellor's Tomb deep in the Cemetery of the Forsaken. - - / / - -
Take the Skeleton King's crown from the Chancellor's Altar. - - / / - -
Return to New Tristram and talk to Haedrig Eamon. I have obtained the crown, but it is broken. I wonder if Chancellor Eamon did this intentionally to prevent anyone from abusing it. I’ll speak with Haedrig; maybe he can repair the damage.
Reign of the Black King Quest Log
Use the New Tristram Waypoint to return to the Cathedral Garden. At last, I have the means to take down the Skeleton King. With this crown, I’ll be able to open the golden door and continue deeper into the cathedral. I’m not sure what to expect in those depths, but that’s never stopped me before.
Enter Leoric's Passage from the Cathedral Garden. - - / / - -
Go to the Cathedral Level 2 through the Ornate Door. There’s an ornate door right around where I found Cain. It will open now that I have King Leoric’s crown.
Descend through the Cathedral. I must journey father into the cathedral. Leoric’s remains are somewhere in the royal crypts. The crown will be the key to defeating him; I’m certain of it.
Give aid to the Warrior. There appear to be cultists in the cathedral as well as the risen dead. They’re holding prisoner a warrior... for some dark end, no doubt. I must save him before he succumbs to their foul spells.
Find the Warrior's Stolen Items in the Cathedral Level 3. How amusing. The warrior doesn’t want to tell me who he is, but there is certainly a great amount of strength within him. He is no mere Tristram militiaman. I will help him retrieve his belongings. Perhaps that will loose his tongue.
Find and Kill Jondar with the Templar in the Cathedral Level 3. Well, the little mystery is solved. My new friend is one of the templar of Westmarch—a religious order known for its fervor and ferocity. One of his brothers, Jondar, has deserted the faith and must be dealt with.
Join the Templar in the Cathedral Level 3. I have helped the templar Kormac fight off his former ally. He certainly didn’t show Jondar any mercy, but I’d do the same if a hunter ever tried to kill me. I could use a skilled fighter on my side. Perhaps Kormac will join with me since we have mutual enemies.
Search for the Royal Crypts beneath the Cathedral. I must journey father into the cathedral. Leoric’s remains are somewhere in the royal crypts. The crown will be the key to defeating him; I’m certain of it.
Search for the Crypt of the Skeleton King in the Royal Crypts. - - / / - -
Enter the Crypt of the Skeleton King in the Royal Crypts. I’m getting closer to Leoric’s resting place. The Skeleton King may think that he is untouchable down here in the shadows, surrounded by countless corpses of fallen soldiers and adventurers. But he has never met a demon hunter.
Kill the Returned guarding the gate to the Skeleton King's tomb in the Crypt of the Skeleton King. - - / / - -
Place Leoric's crown on the Skeleton King's head in the Crypt of the Skeleton King. The Skeleton King isn’t going to be pleased with me when I place the crown on his remains. I must be prepared to face him in battle.
Kill the Skeleton King in the Crypt of the Skeleton King. - - / / - -
Enter the Desolate Chamber in the Crypt of the Skeleton King. Air flows from beneath the throne. A secret passage may be there.
Talk to the Stranger in the Desolate Chamber. I’ve found the crater where the meteor fell, but there is only a weakened man lying here. This doesn’t make sense unless he was the meteor itself...
Return to New Tristram. Deckard Cain might know how to help this stranger. We will visit him in New Tristram.
Talk to Deckard Cain in New Tristram. - - / / - -
Sword of the Stranger Quest Log
Go to the Fields of Misery northwest of the Cemetery of the Forsaken. I have discovered the force behind the fallen star, but he is only a man. Moreover, he doesn’t remember anything useful about his strange arrival except that he lost a sword of great importance. One of the pieces fell in the Fields of Misery. I’d best recover it quickly so I may unravel more of this mystery.
Search for the Khazra Den in the Fields of Misery. - - / / - -
Find the Glowing Sword Shard in the Khazra Den. The sword piece has fallen into a khazra den. It seems Leah was right about the sword’s magic influencing the goatmen. If these simpleminded creatures have noticed its power, others may be aware of it as well. I’ll have to take care in retrieving the fragment.
Kill Urik the Seer and the Enraged Zealots surrounding the Glowing Sword Shard in the Khazra Den in the Fields of Misery. - - / / - -
Take the Glowing Sword Shard from the Khazra Den in the Fields of Misery. I’m free to take the sword piece now. I must get it to Deckard Cain in New Tristram before more trouble finds me.
Bring the Glowing Sword Shard to Deckard Cain in New Tristram. Those cultists looked just like the ones who held Kormac captive back in Tristram Cathedral. They are led by a witch named Maghda, and she’s after the sword as well. This can’t be good. I’ll bring this piece to Deckard Cain and see what he thinks of our new adversaries.
The Broken Blade Quest Log
Go to the Drowned Temple northeast of the Fields of Misery. Maghda has unwittingly given me the location of another sword piece, but it doesn’t sound as if recovering it is going to be easy. The Drowned Temple is an ancient edifice belonging to a race that died out long ago. With Leah’s help, maybe I will be able to make it inside.
Follow the Scoundrel into the Old Mill in the Fields of Misery. Some shifty-looking fellow has asked me to help him rescue a “friend.” I have a feeling I’m going to regret this...
Talk to the Brigand at the Old Mill in the Fields of Misery. - - / / - -
Kill the Brigands and Nigel Cutthroat at the Old Mill in the Fields of Misery. - - / / - -
Talk to the Scoundrel at the Old Mill in the Fields of Misery. - - / / - -
Lead the Scoundrel north to the waypoint near the Drowned Temple. - - / / - -
Go to the Drowned Temple north of the Old Mill in the Fields of Misery. Well... that was Lyndon. It seems he’s invited himself to join me. I suppose he may be useful. After all, he’s not completely worthless with that crossbow. Anyhow, the Drowned Temple is just down the path.
Talk to Alaric at the Drowned Temple in the Fields of Misery. The entrance to the Drowned Temple is sealed. There seems to be a spirit guarding it. I’ll let Leah do the talking here.
Go to the Festering Woods over the bridge to the northeast of the Drowned Temple. Alaric says that the keys to the Drowned Temple can be found within the Festering Woods. I suspect there is something he is not telling us...
Retrieve the Beacon of Honor from Warrior's Rest and the Beacon of Light from the Crypt of the Ancients in the Festering Woods. - - / / - -
Place the Beacons on the Pedestals outside the Drowned Temple. I have retrieved both of the artifacts that I need to open the temple gates. There were some pedestals near the entrance. I should place the artifacts on them.
Enter the Drowned Temple. The temple is open. If Maghda was correct, I’ll find a sword piece inside. Alaric warned that his brothers will fight me, but I think I can handle them.
Explore the Drowned Temple. - - / / - -
Kill Ezek the Prophet, Brother Moek, Brother Larel and Brother Karel in the Drowned Temple. - - / / - -
Talk to Alaric in the Drowned Temple. - - / / - -
Secure the Glowing Sword Shard in the inner chamber of the Drowned Temple. - - / / - -
Get the Glowing Sword Shard in the inner chamber of the Drowned Temple. - - / / - -
Return the Glowing Sword Shard to New Tristram. I’m getting awfully tired of Maghda and her ambushes. She must be starting to realize that her plan isn’t going to work. I have two sword pieces now, and she has none. Still, Deckard Cain will want to hear of my progress. I’ll head back to New Tristram.
The Doom in Wortham Quest Log
Talk to the Ferryman at the western docks in New Tristram. The Stranger has remembered something else; one of the sword pieces fell in Wortham. The little fishing village isn’t far. Leah and I will go there and retrieve the final sword piece. I must say, it’s rather nice having her around.
Find the chapel in the center of Wortham. - - / / - -
Kill the cultists outside the chapel in Wortham. Maghda’s cultists are slaughtering the people of Wortham. I have seen too many ruined villages in my time─ burning houses with corpses piled high in the yards... I won’t let Wortham fall to this fate.
Kill Urzel Mordreg outside the chapel in Wortham. - - / / - -
Kill the Dark Berserkers outside the chapel in Wortham. - - / / - -
Talk to the Priest outside the chapel in Wortham. The people of Wortham are now safe and free to go about the business of securing their homes and possessions. But I still need to find the final sword piece... I don’t like that Maghda and her cultists ransacked the town before we arrived. Surely she would have gloated if she already found the piece... wouldn’t she?
Enter the Wortham Chapel Cellar. - - / / - -
Search for the Sword Hilt in the Wortham Chapel Cellar. - - / / - -
Enter Cain's House in New Tristram. We underestimated Maghda. She already has the third sword piece! I must bring this news to Cain!
Trailing the Coven Quest Log
Enter the Caverns of Araneae in the Wortham Bluffs North of Wortham. Deckard Cain’s passing weights heavily on me. I never wanted this for him or for Leah. I can see traces of my sister’s grief in her eyes... But Leah is strong enough to go on without him. She already knows that we must confront Maghda. I’ll have to journey through the caves above Wortham to reach her.
Search for the Chamber of Queen Araneae. I hate leaving Leah alone at a time like this, but some people prefer to nurse their grief privately. For me, action is easier than waiting. I’ll find Maghda somewhere on the other side of these caverns, and when I do, I’ll ensure that my bolts flying at her are the last things she’ll ever see.
Talk to the women trapped in the web in the Chamber of Queen Araneae. - - / / - -
Kill Queen Araneae in the Chamber of Queen Araneae. - - / / - -
Harvest the Pool of Venom in the Chamber of Queen Araneae. ´- - / / - -
Free Karyna with the venom in the Chamber of Queen Araneae. - - / / - -
Go out into the Highlands Crossing from the Chamber of Queen Araneae with Karyna. The spiders in this cave trap human victims and feed upon them. It’s disturbing, to say the least. I was able to rescue one of them, though, a young woman named Karyna. Now that she’s free, we should leave this miserable place.
Talk to Karyna in the Highlands Crossing. - - / / - -
Find the Khazra Staff on Karyna's Lost Wagon in the Southern Highlands. Karyna’s seen the Stranger! Evidently, the cultists are holding him hostage somewhere in Leoric’s manor. But Karyna’s also caused me quite an inconvenience by angering the goatmen in the area. That’s not exactly what I came here to deal with...
Approach the Khazra Barricade with the Khazra Staff in the northern part of the Southern Highlands. Now that I have the staff, I cannot imagine why Karyna wanted it. This thing reeks of... well, goat, and parts of it are caked with a dark substance that looks like blood. Oh well, as long as the goatmen are still interested in it, I’ll be able to get through their defences.
Find Leoric's Manor Courtyard past the Northern Highlands and Leoric's Hunting Grounds. The Highlands... This is where Leoric would ride with his hunting parties, felling many a beast and, as time went on, any poor peasant he happened across. The tales say that a mere glance in the king’s direction was enough to earn a swift death during the height of his paranoia. It is fitting that Maghda has drawn me to this place of slaughter, for she will meet her death here as well.
Enter Leoric's Manor at the peak of the Highlands. Maghda has based her cultists in Leoric’s old manor, and judging from the number of villager corpses near here, I can tell they’ve been practicing more dark magic within those walls. The Stranger may not be the only prisoner they are holding...
Explore Leoric's Manor. - - / / - -
Kill the cultists. - - / / - -
The Imprisoned Angel Quest Log
Enter Halls of Agony Level 1 beneath Leoric's Manor. The cultists have kidnapped many villagers and taken them here to be tortured. Their suffering fuels the dark spells that the Coven uses against me... but not for long. One of the victims has seen the Stranger being dragged into Leoric’s old dungeons below. I must save him before it is too late.
Enter Halls of Agony Level 2 beneath Leoric's Manor. Leoric’s torture chambers are revolting. I can only imagine what the Mad King did here... and what the Stranger must be going through now. Cain believed him to be an angel, but surely an angel could have defeated those cultists. I must ensure that he survives this place.
Go to the Highlands Passage from the Halls of Agony Level 2. - - / / - -
Enter the Cursed Hold from the Highlands Passage. - - / / - -
Talk to Queen Asylla in [[the Cursed Hold below the Highlands Passage. Queen Asylla was executed by her own husband two decades ago. Her spirit has lingered since then, bound to the place where she met her unjust end. Maybe I can aid her in some way.
Free the Prisoners' Remains in the Cursed Hold below the Highlands Passage. Queen Asylla has given me the means to release Leoric’s prisoners from their eternal suffering. It will please me to give them the peace they deserve.
Kill the Warden at the center of the Cursed Hold. It seems the Warden didn’t take very kindly to my freeing his prisoners. I think it’s time to bring his long watch over these cells to an end.
Search for the Chamber of Suffering beneath the Halls of Agony Level 3. It is rewarding to have undone some of King Leoric’s evil, but I must continue searching for the Stranger. He will not last long down here, surrounded by cultists...
Kill the Butcher in the Chamber of Suffering. - - / / - -
Find the Stranger in the Cells of the Condemned. Maghda persists in throwing her minions against me rather than facing me herself. The Butcher was a formidable demon, but I have fought too long and too hard to be bested by the likes of him. I wonder if Josen, the master hunter who trained me, would be proud if he knew what I have accomplished here. It is not important now, of course. I must find the Stranger.
Kill the cultists surrounding the Stranger in the Cells of the Condemned. - - / / - -
Talk to the Stranger in the Cells of the Condemned. - - / / - -
Return to New Tristram Quest Log
Talk to Tyrael in New Tristram. Deckard Cain was right all along. The Stranger is in fact the archangel Tyrael. It is hard to belive... I have seen many demons, but no angels. I’ll need to learn more about why he has come here and what he means to accomplish.
Talk to the Caravan Leader in New Tristram to travel to Caldeum. It will be time to move on to Caldeum soon. I mustn’t keep them waiting.

Act II[]

Shadows in the Desert Quest Log
Go to the Caldeum Bazaar through the northern part of the Hidden Camp. Tyrael believes that Belial is hiding within the great city of Caldeum. I sense something amiss as well, but nothing strong enough for me to hunt without aid. For now, Maghda is all the prey I need.
Talk to Asheara in the Caldeum Bazaar below the Hidden Camp. - - / / - -
Go through the Sundered Canyon outside the eastern gate of the Caldeum Bazaar. There are refugees everywhere, driven from their homes by the Coven. I recognize the sense of loss and desperation in their faces. They have been abandoned by the emperor, and the Imperial Guard does nothing to help them. Those who would offer aid, like Asheara and the Iron Wolves, seem powerless. It falls to me to kill Maghda and bring an end to this crisis.
Kill the ambushing cultists in the Sundered Canyon east of the Caldeum Bazaar. - - / / - -
Talk to the Enchantress in the Sundered Canyon. - - / / - -
Kill the lacuni attacking the Iron Wolves at the Sundered Canyon east of the Caldeum Bazaar. It seems the Coven will do anything to keep me from Alcarnus and Maghda. I have met an enchantress, Eirena, along the road. She was able to locate and dispel a cultist trap that I could not see. I am grateful, to be sure, but I’m still not quite certain why she has chosen to aid me.
Talk to Iron Wolf Jarulf at the Sundered Canyon to the east of the Caldeum Bazaar. - - / / - -
Disrupt the rituals in the Hidden Conclave and the Secret Altar in the Howling Plateau. Eirena says that the Black Canyon Bridge has been concealed by the cultisis’ spells. Once we halt the rituals, their magic will fade and I can proceed on my journey to Alcarnus. We travel through a harsh and lonely land. It reminds me of the Dreadlands but for the sweltering heat. Sand and dust are everywhere in the scalding wind, but I will not let that keep me from my quarry.
Go to the Black Canyon Bridge in the northern part of the Howling Plateau. The cultists casting the illusion are dead, and the road to Alcarnus should be passable now. Maghda must realize that her time is coming to an end, for she has set many traps to slow my progress. Perhaps most telling is that whenever I defeat them, she does not appear and taunt me. She knows she is losing.
Talk to the Enchantress at the Black Canyon Bridge in the northern Howling Plateau. - - / / - -
The Road to Alcarnus Quest Log
Cross the Black Canyon Bridge in northern Howling Plateau. The road to Alcarnus is blocked here. I’ll have to go through the Khasim Outpost to the north. The cultists may have forced me on this circuitous route for a reason. I’d best be on my guard.
Find Khasim Outpost in Stinging Winds. - - / / - -
Talk to Lieutenant Vachem in Khasim Outpost. As I suspected, something is amiss in the Khasim Outpost. But there is no other way to Alcarnus. I must spring whatever trap awaits me here.
Enter the Command Post below Khasim Outpost. - - / / - -
Kill the demons and open the Locked Cage in the Command Post below Khasim Outpost. - - / / - -
Kill the disguised demons in Khasim Outpost. - - / / - -
Talk to Captain Davyd in Khasim Outpost. The Imperial guards were demons in disguise. That must have been what set me on edge when I first encountered them. However, the Iron Wolves who were kept prisoner here seem trustworthy. I must remember that. I may need their help in the future, but for now I must get to Alcarnus.
City of Blood Quest Log
Find Alcarnus through the Khasim Outpost gate. Even from afar, I can see the smoke rising above Alcarnus. It was obvious that Maghda was shaken by my words in the Khasim Outpost. She knows that Belial has abandoned her... and she is afraid.
Find the Lair of the Witch in Alcarnus. Alcarnus is a ruined city. This is the fate that New Tristram would have suffered if I had not intervened. Corpses line the streets, strewn carelessly, while blood stains the ground. The smell is horrifying, and the air is choked with filth and decay. There is no doubt that this is Maghda’s work, and now she will pay for it.
Kill Maghdain the Lair of the Witchin Alcarnus. - - / / - -
Return to the Hidden Camp. Maghda is dead. It won’t bring Deckard Cain back, but if Leah is anything like me, she will sleep a little easier at night. I must return to the camp and begin searching for Belial. Tyrael should have uncovered some information about his whereabouts by now.
A Royal Audience Quest Log
Talk to Asheara at the Gates of Caldeum in the Caldeum Bazaar. I have seen towns fall countless times, and I have saved those I could. But I never imagined that I would stand before the sealed gates of the great city of Caldeum, knowing that demons guard its high arches and towers. I must speak with Asheara immediately. Leah and the boy emperor are at the mercy of the Imperial Guard.
Follow Asheara then talk to her to enter the Imperial Palace. - - / / - -
Kill the demons in the Imperial Palace. Emperor Hakan II is too young; he believes Belial’s lies without reservation, and he has ordered his treacherous guards to kill Leah and me. Simple little fool! We must escape the palace, but this isn’t the end of the matter.
Escape the Imperial Palace into the City of Caldeum with Leah. - - / / - -
Destroy the Demon Summoners in the City of Caldeum. - - / / - -
Escape to the Sewers of Caldeum with Leah. - - / / - -
Unexpected Allies Quest Log
Find the Wretched Pit in the Sewers of Caldeum. Leah has discovered that her mother, Adria, is alive after all. She is being held by Belial’s servants somewhere in these fetid sewers. I can’t help but notice that Leah hasn’t been the same since Cain’s death. Perhaps if we can find her mother, it will raise Leah’s spirits. Family is no small gift.
Kill Goz'turr the Torturer and the Writhing Deceivers guarding Adria in the Wretched Pit in the Sewers of Caldeum. - - / / - -
Talk to Adria in the Wretched Pit in the Sewers of Caldeum. - - / / - -
Talk to Adria in the Hidden Camp. Leah and I were able to kill the demons holding Adria captive. It was interesting seeing mother and daughter reunited after so many years apart. I wonder how I would feel if someone I lost were still alive out there... But it is pointless to dwell upon such things.
Betrayer of the Horadrim Quest Log
Find the oasis gate in the Flooded Causeway beneath the Caldeum Bazaar. Raising Zoltun Kulle sounds troublesome, but sometimes one has to get into more trouble before on can get out of it. If we truly need this wizard’s assistance to defeat the last Lords of hell, then I have no reservations. I will take any help as long as the demons are destroyed.
Talk to Emperor Hakan II in the Flooded Causeway beneath the Caldeum Bazaar. - - / / - -
Find Dahlgur Oasis through the Ruined Cistern beneath the Caldeum Bazaar. The young emperor has shown himself to be stronger than I first though. He found me in the sewers and offered to aid me in finding Belial. He believes he can determine where the demon lord is hiding, and although I doubt he can do much, I welcome his efforts. For my part, I must retrieve Zoltun Kulle’s head.

Find Zoltun Kulle's Head in the Forgotten Ruins beneath Dahlgur Oasis. - - / / - -
Get Zoltun Kulle's Head from the Forgotten Ruins beneath Dahlgur Oasis. - - / / - -
Return to Adria in the Hidden Camp with Zoltun Kulle's Head. I have found Zoltun Kulle’s head. It seems well preserved for all the years it has been separated from the rest of his body, but it falls to Leah and Adria to find life within it, for I see nothing.
Blood and Sand Quest Log
Enter the Ancient Waterway in the northern Dahlgur Oasis. I have had some odd companions on this journey, but none odder than Zoltun Kulle. He is powerful—of that there is no doubt—but he’s also completely untrustworthy. He works solely in his own interest. We will have his aid while it is useful to him and no longer.
Go through the Western Channel to Western Flow Control and pull the lever, then go through the Eastern Channel to Eastern Flow Control and pull the lever there. The emperor found a way to appear before me in the aqueducts, but he has not made much progress in his search for Belial. He is still a child, and he is surrounded by the Imperial Guard most of the time. I must focus on what I can accomplish alone.
Enter the Waterlogged Passage from the Ancient Waterway. - - / / - -
Kill the Betrayed in the Waterlogged Passage. Why is there someone in that barrel?
Break the Talking Barrel in the Waterlogged Passage. - - / / - -
Talk to Covetous Shen in the Waterlogged Passage from the Ancient Waterway. - - / / - -
Find the Crucible in the Hidden Aqueducts. I have made the acquaintance of a man who calls himself Covetous Shen. He has charged me with the unenviable task of locating his lost crucible. I suppose it could be worse. But if this old man is as absentminded as he seems, I find it a wonder he has lived such a long life.

Pick up the Crucible in the Hidden Aqueducts. - - / / - -
Go to the Ancient Path from the Hidden Aqueducts. - - / / - -
Get the Blood of Zoltun Kulle from the Cave of the Betrayer Level 2 and the Vault of the Assassin in the Desolate Sands. The company I keep becomes stranger and stranger. First I was subjected to the ramblings of Covetous Shen—if that is truly his name—and now it seems Zoltun Kulle is trying to win me to his side. It won’t work. I’m every bit as stubborn as he is. He ought to save his breath and be done with it
The Black Soulstone Quest Log
Search for the Archives of Zoltun Kulle at the northern end of the Desolate Sands. Zoltun Kulle tells me his archives lie to the north of these wasted lands. I must admit I’m growing tired of running errands for a dead man. At least I will not have to suffer his companionship much longer.
Go to the Terminus in the Archives of Zoltun Kulle. - - / / - -
Open the Shadow Locks in the Unknown Depths and the Storm Halls. Zoltun Kulle created his archives for one primary purpose: to make the Black Soulstone. Now they are a prison for his discarded body. Once I find it, we will restore him to life so that he may finish his work. I just hope everything goes as planned.
Enter the Realm of Shadow through the Terminus. Zoltun Kulle’s behavior is becoming more and more suspicious with his little chats... He must be planning something. My next order of business is to retrieve his body from the Realm of Shadow. I know the shadows well... and I’ll be watching for any tricks that may hide within them.
Find Zoltun Kulle's Body in the Realm of Shadow from the Terminus. - - / / - -
Talk to Leah in the Terminus. I have now collected all of Zoltun Kulle’s missing parts... except his sense of decency, I suppose. Perhaps he never had one of those. It is time for Leah to cast the spell to restore him. Whatever happens, this is the only way I can get the Black Soulstone. I’ll have to remember that.
Enter the Soulstone Chamber through the Terminus. We have done as we promised. Leah has made Kulle’s body whole, and he lives again, just as he did centuries ago. He has retreated to his sanctum to prepare the Black Soulstone, but will he relinquish it after everything it has cost him? If he does not, I must be ready to wrest it from him.

Get the Black Soulstone in the Soulstone Chamber through the portal from the Terminus. I have slain Zoltun Kulle. With the power of the Black Soulstone, he hoped to surpass the demons and angels alike. He cared nothing for the fate of humanity, thinking only of himself. I will use the stone to trap the soul of Belial and Azmodan. Should I fall on my journey, another will take my place. It is as simple as that. And yet, it is strange that Adria said nothing about the other Lords of Hell being inside the Soulstone. I hope she is not harboring any more secrets.

The Scouring of Caldeum Quest Log
Find Asheara in the Caldeum Bazaar next to the entrance to the Flooded Causeway. Now that I posses the Black Soulstone, Belial would sacrifice every last innocent person in Caldeum to stop me from reaching him. I must make haste. The refugees will not perish on my account, I swear it.

Lord of Lies Quest Log
Enter the City of Caldeum with Leah and Adria. This is the hour I have waited for: the hour when I will finally stand face to face with a Lord of Hell. I know the Great Evils well from their twisted shapes in my nightmares. Now I will see what my years of training under Josen the master hunter are worth. And the deaths of my parents, my sister, Deckard Cain... They will be avenged. It has all come to this.

Act III[]

The Siege of Bastion's Keep Quest Log
Light the Signal Beacons in the Skycrown Battlements outside Bastion's Keep. Bastion’s Keep is a mighty citadel, but its soldiers are unprepared to repel an army of demons. These men have fought admirably given their slight numbers. That is the only reason the keep still stands. But time is not on their side... I must hurry and light the beacons. Let the blazing fires show everyone that we have not been defeated! We will fight until the very end.
Find Sergeant Dalen in the Skycrown Battlements. It is working. The soldiers have rallied from the signal fires, defending the fortress with renewed strength. If I can get them to hold the keep on their own, it will allow me to pursue Azmodan directly. I must say, being so close to him and the Black Soulstone has made my nightmares worse... But I have dealt with these distractions before.
Turning the Tide Quest Log
Raise the catapults in Stonefort. Though the men fight with vigor once again, the demons continue to swarm the keep. They have overrun the Stonefort, where the catapults are berthed. If I can get them up and working, defending the keep will be a great deal easier. I’ll probably have to kill some demons to give the soldiers time to raise the catapults, but fortunately, there is nothing I would rather do.
Return to the Bastion's Keep Stronghold. The walls of Bastion’s Keep are secure. With the catapults in place, the soldiers should be able to hold the fortress long enough for me to confront Azmodan. I have never been near so many demons at once. The nightmares have greatly intensified. I can see my father’s face, frozen in determination, as the demons began closing in... This war must end soon. I will ensure that it does.
The Breached Keep Quest Log
Find the Keep Depths Level 2. The catapults have driven the demons underground, and they have breached the keep’s depths. I should have known our enemies would try to trick us. There are few defenses down there—only soldiers gathering supplies. If I do not act quickly, we will be overrun, and all my efforts will be wasted.
Find the Breach in the Keep Depths Level 2. - - / / - -
Find the Bastion's Keep Larder. Something is amiss. Azmodan has sent a new enemy against me... a creature more sinister than the ones I have faces thus far. The keep’s larder is near here. He must mean to starve us by destroying our rations. I cannot let him succeed.
Kill Ghom in the Larder beneath the Keep Depths. - - / / - -
Return to the Bastion's Keep Stronghold. All demons are foul, but Ghom, the Lord of Gluttony, may have been the most disgusting one that I have encountered. I don’t know if I will ever forget his miserable stench, but I’ll certainly try. Tyrael will want to hear of my progress. I should return to him.
Tremors in the Stone Quest Log
Go to the Armory from the Bastion's Keep Stronghold. If those noises are coming from the armory, that means Leah is in peril. The stone is too much for her to handle alone. I must investigate quickly!
Kill the Terror Spawn escaping from the Black Soulstone in the Armory. - - / / - -
Talk to Leah in the Armory. It is easier for Leah to hold the Soulstone now that some of its demonic energy has been released. It will build up again in time, though. I do not know how much more of this Leah can withstand. If my nightmares are severe, then her suffering must be even worse. I have to defeat Azmodan and trap his essence within the Soulstone before we lose her...
Machines of War Quest Log
Go through the Arreat Gate outside the Bastion's Keep Stronghold. It is time to strike against Azmodan’s forces on the battlefield. His war machines must not be allowed to destroy the keep after everything we have endured. I worry for Leah. She is brave, but that is not enough to get her through this trail. I am beginning to think that she will never again be the hopeful young woman that I met in New Tristram.

Destroy the Demonic Ballistae and the Trebuchet Device on the Fields of Slaughter northeast of the Bridge of Korsikk. - - / / - -
Find Rakkis Crossing at the northeast end of the Fields of Slaughter past the Bridge of Korsikk. Azmodan’s war machines are nothing more than heaps of rubble, but the battle rages on. Leah and I will never known peace while the Lord of Sin lives. I must hunt him down over the battlefield. I cannot rest until his great filthy carcass is riddled with my bolts.
Talk to Tyrael at Rakkis Crossing northeast of the Fields of Slaughter. - - / / - -
Siegebreaker Quest Log
Find the demon gate at the Edge of the Abyss past Rakkis Crossing. Surprisingly, Tyrael has decided to join me as I fight my way into the crater. He is a fine swordsman, and more importantly, he possesses a determination that is rare even in the best of warriors. I wonder what would have happened if the angels had chosen to defend humanity long ago. Would our world have suffered so greatly?
Kill the Siegebreaker Assault Beast at the Edge of the Abyss. - - / / - -
Talk to Adria near the demon gate. We broke through Azmodan’s gate, and he sent a massive siegebreaker demon after us in retaliation. Fortunately, Tyrael and I were able to defeat the monster. Our path to the crater is clear, but Adria has suddenly arrived. I’ll have to see what she wants.
Heart of Sin Quest Log
Go through Arreat Crater Level 1 and find the Tower of the Damned Level 1. Adria brought word of Leah’s latest vision. She has seen that Azmodan is using a pair of Sin Hearts to empower his legions. Leah believes the hearts are located in towers within the crater. These visions have always strained her badly, just as the nightmares used to wear upon me. I must hurry and destroy the hearts while she is still strong enough to control the Soulstone.
Find the Sin Heart in the Heart of the Damned. - - / / - -
Destroy the Sin Heart in the Heart of the Damned. - - / / - -
Find the Tower of the Cursed Level 1 past Arreat Crater Level 2. I see the landscape of my nightmares before my waking eyes. The spikes, the flames, the hot ash in the air... All is as I have beheld it in my terrifying dreams. But I fear nothing now. There is no room for anything in my heart but hatred for Cydaea, Azmodan, and every last demon in the Burning Hells.
Find the Sin Heart in the Heart of the Cursed. - - / / - -
Kill Cydaea in the Heart of the Cursed. Cydaea will fare no better against me than Ghom did. Azmodan must perish, and all of his lieutenants with him.
Destroy the Sin Heart in the Heart of the Cursed. - - / / - -
Kill Azmodan in the Heart of Sin beneath the Core of Arreat. I have come far since Josen taught me how to keep my arm from shaking when I held a crossbow. It’s strange; I can remember first meeting the master hunter so clearly, yet here I am on the verge of slaying the last Lord of Hell. It has been a long journey, heavy with sacrifice and blood... and that is how it will end. But this time, the blood will be a demon’s
Get the Soul of Azmodan from the Heart of Sin. - - / / - -
Return to the Bastion's Keep Stronghold. At last! Every Lord of Hell lies trapped within that stone. I owe it all to Leah, Adria, and Tyrael for helping me with this great undertaking. But now we must waste no time destroying the Black Soulstone. Everything will change... Deprived of their leaders, the surviving demons will be scattered and weak. I’ll hunt them down, one by one, until the end of my days.
Talk to Lieutenant Lavail in the Bastion's Keep Stronghold. - - / / - -
Enter the Armory in the Bastion's Keep Stronghold. - - / / - -
Go to the Keep Tower through the Armory. - - / / - -
Enter the Portal to Heaven atop the Keep Tower. No... It was all a trap—an elaborate illusion—to aid an unspeakable enemy. Now Leah is imprisoned within that abomination, the Lord of Terror himself. If I had any sense, I would throw myself from these walls and let my blood freeze into the ground. But I did not give in when Halissa died, raving and cursing with her last breath. I cannot lose faith.

Act IV[]

Fall of the High Heavens Quest Log
Talk to Tyrael at the Diamond Gates. Adria lied to me. After coming so far and slaughtering so many monsters, I inadvertently helped the worst damned demon of them all. But this isn’t over yet. I will track the Lord of Terror through the High Heavens and give him the end he deserves. I’ll need to talk to Tyrael first.
Enter the Vestibule of Light. Something has happened to Tyrael He is no longer himself. Perhaps Imperius’s words have cut deeper than they should have... or maybe there is a grain of truth in them. But nothing is going to improve unless I fight. I will continue without Tyrael. He’ll come to his senses in time.
Kill Iskatu and his minions in the Vestibule of Light. - - / / - -
The Light of Hope Quest Log
Find Itherael at the northwest end of the Vestibule of Light. I have faced a minion of Terror and triumphed. The fate of the Heavens is dire indeed, but this small victory may herald more to come. I won’t stop until the blood of Diablo’s demons runs black down the crystalline halls of Heaven. That will draw out the Lord of Terror.
Talk to Itherael in the Vestibule of Light. - - / / - -
Find the Library of Fate in the Gardens of Hope 1st Tier beyond the Vestibule of Light. I had been wondering where the angelic Host had gone. Now it all makes sense. Auriel, the archangel of Hope, has been imprisoned, and the other angels, even Tyrael, are listless and dejected without her influence. I must liberate her before it is too late.
Enter the Library of Fate in the Gardens of Hope 1st Tier. - - / / - -
Kill Rakanoth in the Library of Fate in the Gardens of Hope Tier 1. - - / / - -
Destroy Auriel's Prison in the Library of Fate. Hell has lost another mighty demon, but Auriel is still trapped within her prison. I must free her quickly and find out what she knows.
Talk to Auriel in the Library of Fate. - - / / - -
Return to the Gardens of Hope 1st Tier. Auriel has granted me the ability to dispel demonic corruption from the High Heavens. With this gift, I should be able to fight my way to the Hell rifts that links realm to the Burning Hells, and then I will destroy the portals. When Diablo’s armies are cut off from their reinforcements, I will be ready to pursue the Lord of Terror himself.
Destroy the Corruption to reveal the Hell Rift in the Gardens of Hope 1st Tier. - - / / - -
Destroy the Rift Oculus in the Hell Rift. - - / / - -
Use Auriel's Portal to leave the Hell Rift. I have closed one of the Hell rifts, but this place grows unstable without Diablo’s spellwork to uphold it. I must return to the gardens through Auriel’s portal at once.
Enter the Gardens of Hope 2nd Tier. Auriel mentioned another Hell rift. It must be up ahead, in the second tier of the Gardens of Hope. The entrance cannot be too far... I will search for it.
Destroy the Corruption to reveal the Hell Rift in the Gardens of Hope 2nd Tier. There is just one Hell rift left, hiding beneath the demons’ corruption. I will find the portal as quickly as I can so that I may pursue my true prey: Diablo. I cannot rest until I face him... I have no doubt that my nightmares would overwhelm me, and I would never wake again.
Destroy the Rift Oculus in the Hell Rift. - - / / - -
Escape the Hell Rift before it collapses. It wasn’t easy, but I’ve closed the Hell rifts. The taste of ash in the air will surely be with me for a while, but at least it’s done. Now I must pass through Auriel’s portal to get back to the gardens.
Find the portal to the Crystal Colonnade in the Gardens of Hope 2nd Tier. The Gardens of Hope are safe for now. I must find the entrance to the Silver Spire, where Diablo waits. This has been a long time coming. I have dreamed of this moment for years... or perhaps those were nightmares...
Talk to Tyrael at the portal to the Crystal Colonnade in the Gardens of Hope 2nd Tier. Tyrael is here! That is quite a relief. I nearly thought him lost to the demons... just as I have lost so many others. The end of this great trail is upon me, and it will be good to have another ally by my side. I must speak with him right away.
Enter the Crystal Colonnade from the Gardens of Hope 2nd Tier. Tyrael has found the will to fight once again. I must say I am a little surprised. I have not seen many come back from the pepths of despair... But now it is time to journey through the portal to the Crystal Colonnade and pursue Diablo in the Silver Spire. Whatever awaits us, at least we will not face it alone.
Beneath the Spire Quest Log
Find Imperius at the Crystal Colonnade.
Talk to Imperius at the Crystal Colonnade. - - / / - -
Enter the Gateway to the Silver Spire from the Crystal Colonnade. Although I will bear the guilt to my grave, I never suspected that some of the angels would threaten to kill me for my role in Diablo’s resurgence. Imperius will have to wait. I’m hunting someone else right now, and he is very close... just through that gateway and up the Silver Spire...
Prime Evil Quest Log
Cross the Great Span from the Silver Spire Level 1. The Heavens darken around us as we journey closer to Diablo. I know what Tyrael must be thinking as he looks upon his ruined homeland... I have felt it as well. There is a sadness in his eyes —one that will never leave him, I suspect. But still we press on.
Kill Izual in the Great Span. Somehow Diablo found one of Tyrael’s old lieutenants. Though once an angel, he has been corrupted beyond all recognition. Nothing remains but to put this monster out of his misery.
Climb to the Pinnacle of Heaven above the Silver Spire. We have vanquished the fallen angel Izual. What challenges lie ahead of us, I cannot say, but Tyrael and I will face them undauntedly. I know that stern expression he wears by now. Ever has Justice embraced determination. I share it too. For my sister, my family, all those who have perished at the hands of demons... I will fight to my last breath.
Talk to Tyrael at the Pinnacle of Heaven. For all his boasting, Imperius and his warriors have lost their strength. The angels will perish or find themselves corrupted if Diablo succeeds. I must speak with Tyrael and ensure that it is time to face the Lord of Terror at long last.
Go to the Crystal Arch above the Pinnacle of Heaven. I must face Diablo alone, just as I have faced terror alone in a thousand of my nightmares. How many times have I seen my parents struggle and scream as the demon tore them apart? How many times have I seen my sister, Halissa, rave and lunge at me in the depths of her madness? It can all end today. I will kill the Lord of Terror and save the Heavens... and myself.

Talk to Auriel at the Crystal Arch and bring your quest to an end. Diablo is dead. It took everything I had just to withstand his torment, but somehow it was enough. His passing won’t bring back Leah, Cain, my family, or any of the others who died or went mad because of the demons... Yet I feel a strange sense of fulfillment. I know it won’t last —a hunter is never without prey for long —but tonight I may well find the dreamless sleep I have sought for so many years.

Act V[]

The Fall of Westmarch Quest Log
Find a way into Westmarch The kingdom of Westmarch was once my home. My father was a sawyer in a village outside the city, and though we lived humble lives, we still paid our dues to the crown. I never thought I’d return here—and certainly not like this. But now, I come to liberate it from these darkened angels—angels who are no better than demons.

If Urzael leads the attack on Westmarch, then his defeat will ensure the safety of the city. Afterwards, I can look into where this mastery leads.

Go through Tyrael's portal through the Pandemonium Gate. Adria’s dying words linger in my mind. She was taunting me, no doubt, but was there anything more to what she said? Could Diablo truly return? Surely, Malthael would not let that happen. The Prime Evil wil remain trapped within the Black Soulstone so long as it’s in the Pandemonium Fortress. Or so I hope.

I imagined he’d be on Malthael’s side, but even the Aspect of Valor can see how far his brother has fallen. Perhaps he isn’t a complete fool after all.
